ABC gets 'real' with its Fall 2023 schedule

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 18

While CBS and NBC have already announced their Fall 2023 schedules, they curiously forged on perhaps hopeful that a resolution to the Writers Strike would come in time so as to not have any effect on scripted programming or just delaying premieres a bit. ABC has taken a more realistic approach to its Fall schedule, leaning heavily on reality shows, game shows, sports and repeats ... basically a 'strike-proof' schedule.

"We are proud to be home to beloved series and meaningful narratives that audiences continue to embrace, and we're fortunate that our solid, stable roster continues to leverage the enormous success of our established hits, with originals airing every night of the week," said Craig Erwich, president, Disney Television Group.

The network is leaning into its incomparable unscripted slate, with Dancing with the Stars making history once again by becoming the first series to broadcast live across multiple platforms on Monday nights. Star-studded game shows The $100,000 Pyramid, Celebrity Jeopardy!, hosted by Ken Jennings, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Press Your Luck as well as the 15th season of multi-Emmy Award-winning Shark Tank make their returns. Sundays are all about family, featuring all-new episodes of America's Funniest Home Videos paired with beloved movies from The Wonderful World of Disney.

Changes to the previously announced schedule include the shift of Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise to Thursdays, with Celebrity Jeopardy!, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and The $100,000 Pyramid moving to Wednesdays. The full Monday and Tuesday schedule will be announced at a later date.

Timing for previously announced renewals and pickups, including 9-1-1, Abbott Elementary, American Idol, The Bachelor, The Conners, The Good Doctor, Grey's Anatomy, High Potential, Not Dead Yet, The Rookie, Station 19, and Will Trent will be announced at a later date.
