The 78th Annual Tony Awards nominees are announced


Tony Award nominations were announced by Tony Award winners Sarah Paulson and Wendell Pierce for THE 78TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS(R), which will air live Sunday, June 8 (8:00-11:00 PM, LIVE ET/5:00-8:00 PM, LIVE PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs)*. As previously announced, Tony(R), Emmy(R), GRAMMY(R) Award winner and three-time Oscar(R) nominee Cynthia Erivo will host the 2025 Tony Awards as the show makes its return to the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

CBS and Pluto TV will present THE TONY AWARDS: ACT ONE, a pre-show of live, exclusive content leading into THE 78TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS. Additional details will be available at a future date.

Nominees for THE 78TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS were selected by an independent committee of 54 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2025 Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing and have been broadcast on CBS since 1978. Buena Vista Social Club, Death Becomes Her and Maybe Happy Ending lead the Musical nominations with 10 each, while The Hills of California leads the Plays category with 7 nominations.
